It’s no secret that SEO has changed a lot recently. The days of traditional SEO and a keyword-only approach are dead, but what’s taken its place? If you’re wondering how Mopro is getting you found (or can get you found), then read on. Spoiler alert: Our entire platform is built to make sure you get found and chosen online.

1. We go beyond the website.
Websites are powerful, but they’re just not where consumers make buying decisions. Long gone are the days when we’d go to Google, search, and get a list of the best websites on the first page.

See for yourself! Try searching for a local business in your area. On the first page of Google, you’ll see 33% is Google Ads, 45% is Google My Business local listings, and 22% are directories that prioritize results based on reviews. This is the new way to get your business in front of customers.

Don’t get us wrong. We still build websites according to best practices for on-page SEO. But if you want to be a first page result, we have to focus on Google Ads, local listings, and directories.

2. We guarantee a spot at the top with Google Ads.
Spending some money on Google Ads is the best way to guarantee you’re topping first page results. That’s why we strongly encourage all of our clients to spend at least some money here. Heck, chances are it’s because of Google Ads that you know about Mopro! Yep, we take our own advice.

If you’re thinking, yeah but people always skip over ads and go to organic results, then think again. Clicks on paid search listings beat out organic clicks by nearly a 2:1 margin for keywords with high commercial intent in the US. Overall, paid results do get less clicks than organic ones, but when people are ready to buy, Google Ads seal the deal. And if you’ve seen a Google Ad recently, you know they’re cleverly designed to look almost exactly like organic results.

We know launching Google Ads can be really confusing, so we give clients our A.I.-powered Google Ads tool that makes getting started easy. Learn more here.

3. We add you to Google My Business and other key directories.
Next up, we focus on getting you listed with every local directory people are using, and that starts with Google My Business. Remember that GMB listings dominate the first page. We get you there with a listing that includes as much information as possible so your profile is extra clickable.

While we’re at it, we add you to 40+ other local directories, because we like to cover our bases. Also remember that other directories make up the last section of first page results.

We have technology that syncs all these listing so you can make changes to all of them from one place. It keeps your listing info consistent, which is important. Inaccurate listings are a big no-no when you’re trying to make a first impression. Learn more about what we do here.

4. We keep you ranking high in directory results with 5-star reviews.
It isn’t enough to just create a bunch of profiles and hope for the best. If you want to actually make an impression there, you need to have reviews. GMB and others rank results based on review count and quality.

We know that when it comes to requesting reviews, it needs to be fast and a no-brainer for you. We built our platform to integrate with whatever tool you use to manage customers, like your accounting or POS system, so that a review request is triggered via text and email every time you close a customer. “Set it and forget it” is kind of our thing… Learn more about the easiest way to collect 5-star reviews here.

These steps are just the beginning. The Mopro platform includes tools and services for reputation management, social media posting, competition tracking, and much more. Email us at hello@mopro.com or call 844-207-9038 (ext. 1) to learn how we can help you get found and chosen online.

Your website’s CTAs are a big deal. After landing on your site, your call-to-action buttons tell visitors what action you want them to take next – whether that’s to Sign Up, Call Now, or do something completely different. Without a clear CTA, visitors to your site won’t know what to do next, and then they’re as good as lost.

There’s good CTAs and there’s bad ones, so we’ve put together some tips to make yours more clickable.

1. Make them buttons.
CTA buttons should look like buttons. Not hyperlinks, not floating text. Now’s not the time to reinvent the wheel. Now’s the time to show people what they’re familiar with. And that’s a rectangular-shaped button in an eye-catching color with text. A gradient, a rounded edge… those details are flexible. Just make sure your button’s a button.

2. Use the right words.
The first rule of CTA writing is to make sure your button is something people feel comfy clicking. The action should be clear, but stay away from anything that signals too much of a commitment. For example, “Get Started” might feel like an easier action to take than “Sign Up”. Here are some other action words to consider:

Start
Join
Learn
Discover
Create
Explore
Try

Some other reminders: Keep it short – no more than five words tops is best. And when possible, write in first person, (like “my” and “me”) versus second person (like “you” and “yours”). It creates a more personal connection between your visitor and whatever you’re offering.

3. Pick the right colors.
The exact color you choose for your CTA will depend on your site’s design, but in general, colors that contrast with your background work best. No one’s drawn to a blue button on a blue background. You may have heard orange and green buttons get the best results, but if that’s not a fit for your page, keep looking.

Complementary colors typically look the brightest next to each other. If you don’t know your complementary colors, here’s a refresher.

4. Remember button font and size matter.
Big and easy to read. Those are the rules when it comes to styling your button’s text. Readability is key so now’s not the time for a fancy font or text you need to squint to see. A simple serif or sans serif font will do the trick. Keep in mind that text in all capital letters typically stands out more too.

5. Make sure your main CTA is above the fold (and below).
Your most important CTA should be visible above the fold of your website (the part of your page that’s visible without any scrolling). It’s important because there’s no guarantee every visitor to your site will scroll to the bottom of your page. On the other hand, you’ll want to include another CTA further down too so that people who want to read more about you can take action when they’re ready.

Another note on placement: Make sure there is plenty of negative space (think breathing room) around your button. This helps it to stand out on your page rather than getting lost in a bunch of clutter.

6. When in doubt, test it out.
Your CTA not getting you the results you want? It might be time for a little adjustment and companies serious about conversions are always testing their buttons. Start with trying new button text – maybe you can add a sense of urgency to your button (words like “today”, “now”, or “limited time”) or switch up the color. No such thing as too much testing.

Whether you’re able to spend a lot or just a little, we encourage all of our clients to at least spend some money on Google Ads. Why? Because Google Ads are the only way to guarantee a spot on the coveted first page of Google. Bottom line is, if you want to be the most visible, it’s going to cost you (Google’s no dummy).

The good news is that even a little ad spend can make a difference, and if you think running a campaign is super-duper complicated, think again. As Google partners, we’re able to offer our clients a complete ads management solution that gets you up and running fast – no guesswork required.

Still on the fence? Here are some reasons why Google Ads really pull their weight.

1. Google Ads convert 50% better than organic traffic.
People who click on a Google Ad are ready to buy and do so quickly. That high intent to purchase means that these searchers are just more likely to convert than your average organic searcher. They see your ad prominent in results, and they’re ready to take you seriously. That’s the kind of traffic Google Ads attract.

2. You can work with any budget.
Sure, the more you spend, the more clicks you’ll get. But there’s no minimum amount you need to spend to get your ads started. In fact, we recommend starting small while you learn what works and what doesn’t. A little can go a long way if you’re choosing the right keywords, have strong ad copy, etc. You can always adjust and readjust your spend.

3. You only pay for results.
With Google Ads, you pay per click, so there’s not much risk. You’re paying when your leads take action (a click to your site, a click to call, etc.), and if they don’t act, you don’t pay.

4. You can advertise anytime and on any device.
We’re not talking about a TV or radio spot that runs once and then you’re done. With Google Ads, you’re able to advertise anytime you want – even 24/7, 365 if that’s your strategy.

You’re also able to reach people on all devices, and that’s important, especially with mobile. Since most people use their mobile devices to search, Google Ads help you meet them where they’re at.

5. You can control the days and times your ads run.
With Google Ads, you’re in control, and that should give you some peace of mind. If you’d rather run your ads during business hours only, or if you want to avoid certain days, you can totally do that. Being strategic about dates and times will improve your results in the long run, so keep an eye on your analytics to see what works best for you.

6. You can reach more of the right customers.
With audience targeting, you’re not just taking shots in the dark. You’re able to have control over who sees your ad, whether it’s people in a radius around your business or people searching in specific areas. That means reaching more of the people who are most likely to buy from you.

7. You can see results fast.
No waiting to see if your latest marketing tactic is actually working. With Google Ads, you can track results as soon as your ads are live – and axe the waiting game.

8. It’s easy to measure and optimize.
Every part of your campaign is measurable, which means it’s easy to monitor and make adjustments if things aren’t working. Track your conversions, costs, clicks, visits, and more. If one of your ads isn’t doing well, it’s easy to pause and move that budget somewhere else.

Reviews are such a big part of your business that you can’t leave them up to chance. Every business should be actively seeking and collecting customer reviews – they’re your bread and butter!

We’ve put together our top review collection tips. Follow these to make scoring 5-star reviews a no-brainer.

1. Don’t do it all yourself.
Maybe you’re still relying on signage in your store or on face-to-face conversations with your customers to ask for reviews. If that’s you, just know that there’s a much easier and more effective way.

If you want to see true review results, stop doing it all yourself. Our review collection platform helps you collect reviews automatically. Just select whatever customer interaction you want to trigger a review request, and we’ll send them one instantly via text and/or email. It’s frictionless! And super easy for both you and your customer.

2. Make sure your messaging speaks to your customers.
You want your customers to be excited about recommending you to others. So definitely don’t make leaving you a review sound boring, or worse, like a lot of work. Whether you’re requesting a review via email or in a text message, make sure your tone resonates with your customers.

Let your customer know their feedback is important to you. Thank them for their time, and let them know it will only take a few seconds. Don’t forget that with our platform, you can customize your review requests to speak to your exact customer.

3. Focus on the platforms that matter.
You need to make sure you’re collecting reviews on the right platforms. Google, Yelp, and Facebook are shoe-ins, but what platforms are the most important to your specific industry?

If you’re in home improvement, you might want to focus on platforms like HomeAdvisor or Angi. If you’re a realtor, Zillow or Realtor.com might be more your thing. Whatever review sites you’re focused on, remember that giving your customer too many choices might feel overwhelming. Just choose the ones that are most important.

4. Trigger review requests at the right time.
We usually recommend sending a review request to your customer immediately after they have an interaction with you – like when they make a purchase. This ensures that their great experience is still top of mind when they go to review you.

5. Make sure your latest reviews are displayed on your website.
Visitors to your site want to know you’re the real deal, which is why making your most recent reviews prominent is so important. The easiest way to do this is to add reviews to your site automatically.

Our platform lets you do this so you’re never having to manually add your latest reviews to your site. We can even display them as a dynamic pop-up so that they’re impossible to miss.

6. Share your reviews on social media.
You work hard for your great reviews, so we need to make sure you get the most visibility you can out of them. Sharing them on social media is the perfect way to spread news about how awesome you are. Our platform lets you do this automatically so your social audience never misses a thing.

If you’re a current client who isn’t taking advantage of our review collection solution yet, you’re not making the most out of your subscription with us! Call 844-207-9038 (ext. 2) or message us at mopro.com/support. Just say the word and we’ll set up automatic review collection for you totally free.

Design great-looking emails in a flash.
Trust us when we say that we’ve been around the block with lots of email marketing tools, so we know how hard or easy designing in an email editor can be. We haven’t found a solution that makes designing emails easier than ours.

Marketing, transaction, automated – whatever email you’re designing, we’ve got a pre-designed template to start you off, and customizing is a piece of cake from there. No hard-to-learn design tools here. Just an intuitive builder that cuts design time and lets you send emails faster.

A/B test.
We know that A/B testing sounds complicated, but we’ve made it easy. Our A/B test feature lets you easily compare email variations and send the best result automatically.

Test almost anything in your email and create up to 10 variations. Making a new version of your campaign just takes a click, and once you send, you can track results in real time. This really is the best way to get the greatest return on every email you send.

Learn more about A/B testing in our platform here.

Configure automated workflows.
A workflow is just an email or series of emails that’s triggered by an event. You don’t have time to manually send every email, which is why automations should be your best friend.

Welcome emails, anniversaries… just select a trigger and start adding your emails. Talk about a time-effective way of engaging your customers! For more info on creating a workflow, click here.

Create segments.
Segments are custom filters you can apply to contact lists. They help you target a specific group of contacts based on their behavior. And this is what you need to do to send exactly the right message to exactly the right people.

Want to send an email just to people who didn’t open your last one? Or only to people who didn’t click last time? The sky’s the limit with your segmentation options. Our solution lets you create a custom segment with just a few clicks.

Easily compare campaigns.
Our platform has a neat feature that allows you to compare campaigns in detail. Just select the campaigns you want to analyze and see how they stack up.

You can compare up to 10 at a time. Clicks, opens, bounces… see these metrics and lots more. It’s the perfect way to see how you’re performing and if you’re headed in the right direction.

See analytics in a flash.
One of the many great things about email marketing is that success is super easy to measure. Our platform includes powerful real-time analytics so you’re not in the dark about how an email is performing. It’s easy to track what’s working and what isn’t, and optimize performance that next time you hit “Send”.

We may not encourage judging books by their cover, but you definitely can judge an email by its subject line. And people do! The average person gets 88 emails per day, so it’s no wonder why lots and lots of marketing emails go unread.

The difference between a read and an unread email almost always boils down to your subject line, so that’s why it takes the crown: your subject is the most important part of your email.

But what makes an email subject good or bad? We’ve put together our top 10 tips. Follow these and get ready for better open rates!

1. Write and test multiple.
Often when you’re writing subject lines, you’ll write bad ones before writing anything good. That’s why we recommend creating a list of 5–10 and then picking your strongest players.

The next step is to A/B test them. See which ones get the most opens when you send them to a group from your email list, and there’s your winner. You can do this easily with our email marketing solution. Just select the A/B Test tab under My Campaigns.

2. Keep it short and simple.
We recommend keeping your subject line less than 40 characters or 5–7 words. People are much more captivated by the short and snappy rather than the long winded. Also, if your subject is too long, it will just get cut off, especially on mobile – keep in mind that 81% of people prefer checking email on their phones.

3. Use personalization.
Your customers appreciate a personal touch. It makes your marketing email feel less salesy and more like a message from a friend. When possible, use tags in your subject, like your customer’s name.

4. Tell them what’s inside.
Sure, there can be room for a little mystery when it comes to email subjects, but in general, your recipients should quickly know what your email is about. Make sure your subject tells them what to expect in your email – and why, of course, they’re better off opening it.

5. Create a feeling of exclusivity.
People like feeling special, so when you can, let your subject convey a feeling of exclusivity. Your customers will be more interested in an offer that’s “just for them” rather than a generic marketing message to the masses.

6. Create a sense of urgency.
A deadline could be the push someone needs to open an email. If possible, let your recipient know that your offer ends on such-and-such a date, or that it’s the last day for them to take advantage of an offer.

7. Try a question.
A good way to engage your email recipients is to ask a question in your subject line. It helps develop curiosity and engage. “Are you missing out on … ?” or “Did you know … ?” can be great jumping off points to making a personal connection.

8. Start with an action.
Good email subjects often begin with a strong action word. Think “Save” or “Sign up”. These call-to-action type subjects tell your readers exactly what you want them to do. If you want more on writing compelling CTAs, check out this post.

9. Avoid all caps and too much punctuation.
All caps and overusing punctuation are two things you should avoid. Nothing looks more salesy or spammy than “WANT THIS FOR FREE?!” It’s a turn off for people and could even trigger spam filters that are built to filter out emails like that.

10. Don’t overuse emojis.
Emojis are how lots of us communicate these days, so you can definitely try them out in email subjects. Just don’t go overboard. Don’t use more than one and don’t use them to replace words – that can make a message too confusing.

You can even insert dynamic tags, like your customer’s name, to take customization all the way. After that, you’ll select the platforms you want your customers to leave you reviews on.

The last step is to select whether or not you’d like us to automatically share your 5-star reviews to your social media platforms. Why not, right? You’ll choose which platforms you’d like us to share these to, and then you’re ready to start requesting reviews!

We redesigned this whole process so finding customers and adding them as recipients happens in a flash. Just search for your customer by name, phone number, or email, and type enter to send. You can send to one customer at a time or a group of customers. Send your request right away or schedule it to send in the future. However you send, you can be sure it’s quick and easy.
