How does your website look on a mobile device?

By Kathleen Montecillo

Mobile optimization is one of the most important things for websites today. People are looking you up online, and increasingly, they’re looking you up solely from their mobile devices. You may not realize it, but this is crucial information for your online presence since 57% of those users will leave your site if it takes more than three seconds to load. Mobile users are hoping to get the information they’re searching for as quickly and easily as possible which makes mobile optimization that much more essential.

Why should your website be mobile optimized?

1. Increased Traffic

There are over 1.2 billion people using the Internet on their mobile devices right now. 90% of people split their Internet usage between their devices. What does all of this mean to you? People aren’t just looking you up on their computers. This could be a very good thing if your website is optimized for mobile, but just as detrimental if it is not. Just by having a website that loads better and faster on a phone, you’ve jumped ahead of your competitors.

2. Reduced Bounce Rate

We’ve all gone to websites where we’ve had to double tap, pinch, turn our phones or move things around in order to see what’s going on. No one likes that, so many of us have simply stopped doing it. A mobile user can immediately tell if the website loading is optimized for their device. If it looks like they’ll have to do any of the things mentioned above, they’ll leave and head to your competitor’s site. With such a high number of internet users coming from mobile devices, your bounce rate on mobile will have a huge effect on your bounce rate overall.

3. Higher Conversion Rate

Smartphones made everything easier. We no longer need phonebooks, pagers, or payphones. Now everything can be done with a few taps of a finger. The only thing that gets in the way of this is when a website is not optimized for a mobile device. The easiest way to turn a visitor to a customer is by the call-to-action on your website. In most cases, this means that on a mobile device, there is an easily accessible phone number or contact form.

There it is. Are you seeing any red flags? Is your website mobile optimized? If not, it’s time to change that today. Mopro makes sure every website is mobile optimized and works well no matter what device you're using.
