Target A Younger Audience

By Kathleen Montecillo

One great way to enhance your chances of capturing the following of a younger audience is social media. If your business isn’t on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, or Vine, create those accounts today! The key to maximizing your following on these platforms is posting visual content. On Facebook, photo posts get 39% more engagement (likes, comments, and click-through links) than text-based posts. If you’re not sure what to post, get ready to take some notes. The following social media post types are extremely popular with younger social media users:

  • Memes: A meme is typically made up of a funny or popular image with a joke or observation to match. These posts are usually humorous and often go viral (popular on the internet) when done right. Check out the example below:
  • Selfies: Selfies (photo of yourself taken by yourself) account for 30% of all photos taken by 18-24 year olds. You can join the fun! Post a selfie with your business’s logo, sign, mascot, menu, new product, new hire - the possibilities are endless! Take a look at one of ours:
  • Graphics: Similar to memes, graphics mix cool visuals in with your posts to attract the eyes that appreciate bold and fun aesthetics. Check out these examples:
